Dear RiverGrace Family,
2018 is upon us. It was a fun and nice ending for those who could stay, to celebrate the arrival of the new year together. We had our worship service, family retreat, hot pot dinner, and fun and games until 11. Then we sang and prayed and watched the Hong Kong countdown at midnight.
We had a “first” for RiverGrace, our first official congregational meeting, at which we approved the 2018 church plan and budget. We also approved hiring P. Tommy to serve half-time.
After our service and birthday lunch celebration, we held our annual retreat to start the New Year off. One of the things we did was to challenge everyone to choose a Bible-reading plan. Since not all could stay for the retreat, I want to take a few minutes to introduce the plans on Sunday. Reading and applying God’s Word to our lives is one of the chief means to developing our relationship to God. There are several plans from which you can choose. There are plans for newer believers and plans to read the Bible though in a year.
This coming Sunday we’re happy to have Michael Krigline lead us in a Concerts of Prayer, as we have on most first Sundays of the month. He will also lead worship. We will have our simple lunch on Sunday. Being the first Sunday of the month there are no scheduled events in the afternoon, there then for the few of us who need to attend HKEC’s General Meeting.
We will have our normal Wednesday Connect Groups and Spanish fellowship next Wednesday.
