Dear RiverGrace Family,
We're moving! I'm not sure what moving brings up in your memory. For me, if I remember correctly, I have lived in 20 different houses from 6 months to 23 years. Only three places did I live in longer than 4 years. Two of them were in the first 16 years of my life, growing up. The other is the one that we currently live in in Tai Wan Village. That's a lot of moving!
The thing that sticks with me the most about each place is our neighbors, and those with whom we came to love as brothers and sisters in the Lord.
That will also be true as RiverGraces leaves Yan Yue to move to United Christian College. Many of the brothers and sisters there have touched our lives and walked with us through the birth and growing up of RiverGrace. We are deeply indebted to you. It would not have been possible without Yan Yue's willingness to take a risk in starting ministry ethnic minorities and foreigners living in Hong Kong.
Even as we are excited with the new opportunities that will open to us, we will miss those at Yan Yue who have welcomed us with warm hearts, who have prayed with and for us, and who have supported us financially these 6 1/2 years. Saying 'thank you" does not seem to be an adequate expression of our gratitude to you. May God bless you. We will continue to pray that the Lord will give you a new vision for what he wants to do in the years to come.
Regarding the move to UCC, it will take place this coming Sunday, after our fellowship lunch. Nearly everything is packed up at Yan Yue, except those things we will use that day. There will be a lorry arrive at 3:00, and after the things are loaded, take them to UCC (OMS). If you are able to help, we welcome that. We need some people in both places. Please do not wear your best Sunday clothes, or if you do, bring something to change into when helping with the move.
This will be our last Sunday service at Yan Yue. We already had our last Wednesday fellowship groups meet there. Next week, the AM connect groups will meet in the OMS Christian ministry building, 3rd floor, and the evening group will meet in the geography room of UCC at 7:00.
In our worship service at noon, Cindy will preach the last sermon in RiverGrace from her series on Ephesians. Rita will lead the worship songs. We'll have a fairly simple lunch because the kitchen has already been packed up. At 2:30 we'll begin to move the things down to the street for when the lorry comes at 3:00.
This Sunday is the deadline for signing up for the Oct 1 Joint Worship with Yan Yue at Suen Douh Camp in Fanling. You need to sign up if you'll be eating lunch, and also if you'll be having the BBQ. Here is the schedule...
