Dear RG family,
As Rev. Kelvin Tse commented last Sunday, "It was a historic day for RiverGrace." The vote by Yan Yue Church to allow RiverGrace to become an independent church became a reality. While we rejoice at the future possibilities of ministry, it's not without some regret that we're leaving our home of 6 years. The brothers and sisters of Yan Yue, have helped birth this body, and like a home when the children have departed, I'm sure to some it will feel like the "empty-nest syndrome."
We bless Yan Yue and thank them from the bottom of our hearts for their support and help through the years, whether it has been financial, prayers, or practical help. We pray that God will renew and clarify their vision as well.
The anticipation and mystery is now over, and the work begins! We already filled 2 pages with things that need to be done in the next few months. Please continue to pray for this process and ask for God's wisdom, strength and favor as we work through the details.
The final decision still has to come from HKEC, but mostly it is a formality since we already meet the criteria for becoming an independent church
This coming Sunday, Father's Day, we'll have guests from the Philippines coming to share with us. They are Let and Abby, who came at Chinese New Year in 2015 to help with a retreat, Abby's parents and the Freed family, missionaries in the Philippines.
We will also talk with them about ways we might work together, especially in the area of Filipinas who return home to live, and Filipinas coming to work in Hong Kong.
Andrew will be leading the worship team and we'll have our fellowship lunch after the service.
The Leadership Team will have an extra meeting this month because of the vote and need to get things moving and in place. The meeting will be held after lunch.
On Wednesday, the morning fellowship and the Connect Groups will meet as normal.
Remember to sign up for the baptism outing on Sunday, June 25 at the Home of Loving Faithfulness if you are planning on joining. We do not want to leave anyone behind. We will hot be meeting at the church that day.
Also on July 1, a public holiday, we will have an outing at Sai Wan Beach. We'll give you details next week.
