Dear RG Family,
Thank you for your prayers these past days. Though Christmas was still special this year because we could be home with our earthly family, it, of course, was not what we expected because of the sudden death of our brother-in-law, Ivan Kline five days before Christmas. (You can read my tribute of him and see photos of him and family @ http://monday-fodder.com/Weekly-Blog.html.
As difficult as it was, we can see God's timing for us being home this year at Christmas... the first time in 41 years that we have come home specifically for Christmas. Please continue to remember their family as they grieve, Especially Ivan's wife, Rita.
I hope that all of you had a wonderful Christmas and we pray God's blessings on your 2017. We missed being a part of these special RG activities!
This coming Sunday we'll have our normal service and simple fellowship lunch. Rev. Tse will be the speaker and have communion.
I hope all of you can attend the RiverGrace family retreat that will be in the afternoon, after lunch. We are holding it on New Year's Day this year because it naturally fell on a Sunday when everyone would already be at church. That gives you a day off on the public holiday, Monday. There will be time for sharing what God has done this past year, and also to reflect on and set some new goals for the coming year. P. Tommy will lead.
We are grateful for P. Tommy (and others who did as well) who picked up the extra load when Cindy and I were gone, and also P. Aime, who was originally going to be helping with the Christmas party and New Year's retreat.
Cindy and I return on January 6, so we look forward to seeing all of you again on Sunday, Jan. 8.
