We said "see you tomorrow" to another of our dear sisters, Still. May the Lord bless her and use her in the Philippines as she joins her family, and prepares to give birth in April.
While we love to send out ambassadors... part of our vision statement for RiverGrace... at the same time, as family members spread their wings and fly to other places, it also leaves empty places in our hearts. Simply because of the turnover rate in our church, including those who are on contracts or whose future in Hong Kong is never assured, we have to work overtime to continue to grow. We are grateful for every one that God brings into our family.
I hope you can join us this coming Sunday at 12 noon. We will have a guest speaker, Raymond To. Actually he will be helping RiverGrace during a 4-month internship. It's a requirement for a seminary class on missions that he is taking at our seminary, United Wesleyan Graduate School of Theology. Since Raymond is the senior pastor of another church, he can not come on Sunday most of the time, or to the Life Group. Mostly he comes to our Wednesday morning fellowship.
We welcome Gee back to Hong Kong after a 2-week holiday. She will be leading the worship team. We'll have our regular lunch afterward the service and at 2:45pm we'll have the Cantonese class. All are welcome to attend that.
Here are some reminders. If you have not yet received the packet of information from our January 1 family retreat. Please let me know. There are several things we emphasized that day. One was the faith promise giving for 2016. Another was that we had you write down 5 people to pray for this year who needed to know the Lord. Another handout was the Bible reading plan for 2016. And the other handouts related to the goals of RiverGrace for this year, and a form to fill out for your own personal growth in the coming year.
You can keep the list of people that you are praying for and the form for personal goals, but we need back the forms for the Bible reading plan so we can print you out a copy, and also we need to get back the Faith Promise sheets so we know our target for 2016.
Also an early reminder... if your are considering being baptized this coming May 1 at our RiverGrace's 5th anniversary celebration, please let me know.
You can also put on our calendars February 8 and 9. These will be two days of activity with a team from the Philipinnes who will have a seminary on the Father's Heart on the first day of Chinese New Year, and on the second day, we will concentrate on worship.
