Tuesday evening, the Alpha and Life Group hosted a farewell dinner for pastor Lea, who will have her last Sunday at RiverGrace this coming Sunday. We had a great meal and fellowship together at the Ban Heung Restaurant in Shek Kip Mei.
We are so grateful for Pastor Lea's ministry in RiverGrace for the last year and a half. I know she has touched the lives of many of us in her generosity and love and care for the brothers and sisters. A big thank you, Pastor Leah
In the near future Pastor Lea will continue to help look after her aging mother, and study in seminary. At some point in the future, if God permits, she would like to return to Africa, where she served as a missionary before. We pray for God's continued blessings on her life and ministry, wherever she serves. Thanks much Pastor Lea. We will miss you.
At the same time, we welcome Tommy Hui, who will start serving as a RiverGrace pastor. For this first year, he will serve on a volunteer basis, primarily on Sundays and Wednesdays, which are our busiest days in terms of ministry.
I first got to know Tommy when he was about 11 years old, and had started studying in United Christian College, where I was still teaching at the time. Tommy has been involved in family business and since then, but a couple years ago, he graduated from United Wesleyan Graduate Institute, and recently has felt God's call to go into the ministry.
Although Tommy has not served as a pastor of a church yet, he has served as a deacon in his home church, and was involved in a variety of ministries during that time. Tommy is fluent in Spanish English, Cantonese and Mandarin, And has traveled to several countries for his family business. Welcome Tommy!
This coming Sunday, Pastor Lea will be sharing her farewell message from Job 42. The title of her sermon is “Now I See.” P. Irma will be leading the worship team and songs. As we are eating our fellowship lunch, we would like to invite anyone to share about how P. Lea has touched their lives during her time in RiverGrace.
After the time of farewell, there will be a Leadership Team Meeting at around 3:00, and the Alpha course will start at 4:00pm
Remember the Christmas party coming up on Christmas Day. This is a good time to bring your friends to meet our RiverGrace family. Also remember our RiverGrace family retreat day on January 1. Both events will start at 10:00am.
